Description
Heavy Duty T-Post Target Mount
You are looking at our Heavy Duty T-Post Target Mount. This is a beefed up version of our regular T-Post Gong Mount. The Bracket features several notable differences. First, there are gussets (triangles) that add strength to the bracket. The entire bracket is manufactured from 1/4″ Thick steel, an upgrade over the standard T-Post Mount. Our objective in building this bracket was to offer more strength and more performance from a T-Post mount. Customers requested a bracket that could even stand up against larger, wild cat cartridges. So we got to work developing this bracket for that use-case. Whether you are plinking with your 22’s, or launching missiles with your 300 PRC, this bracket is designed to stay put, stay planted, and perform flawlessly.

- (One) Yellow Zinc Grade 8 carriage bolt
- (One) Custom Compression Spring
- (One) Locking Nut
- (Two) 3/8″ X 1″ Thumb Screws (to tighten to Tee Post)
- (One) 1/2″ X 1 1/2″ Clevis Pin
Strength and versatility
The heavy duty design of this T-Post Target Mount means it’s built for hard use. Larger calibers, higher volumes, and longer lifespan. This bracket “grips” more onto the T-Post than our standard bracket, and it features added functionality for use with our Armored T-Posts. Additionally, users can install the included 1/2″ Clevis pin (when using our Armored T-Post) for added strength. Further, this is important for higher volume ranges shooting larger calibers and cartridges. For added stability we have included thumb screws on the sides to tighten down onto your T-Post.
Compatibility
The Heavy Duty T-Post Target Mount is compatible with standard off the shelf 1.25 pound per foot T-Posts. Additionally, you may use our Armored T-Post if longevity and performance are important to you.

Tools are not necessary for installation. Simply use the included hardware to mount your T-Post. However, you will need a 3/4″ Socket and Ratchet to install our Genesis AR500 Target Plates to this bracket.

Frequently Asked Questions
1.) Why should I choose this bracket over the standard T-Post Bracket?
Answer: If you need more strength and longevity, this bracket is a good move. It is more expensive than the standard bracket, so that needs to be taken into consideration as you decide. However, the added strength and performance make this a great investment. If cost is your number one priority, the standard T-Post mount might be better for you. Additionally, if you are shooting smaller calibers, you may not need the added strength of this one. Lastly, if you plan to use our Armored T-Post with a multi-target array, we recommend the Heavy Duty T-Post Mount over the Standard one.
2.) What T-Post are compatible with this mount?
Answer: Standard 1.25 Pound / Foot T-Posts found at most hardware stores will interface properly. However, with standard T-Posts you will not use the included Clevis Pin. If you desire a longer lasting solution, we recommend our Armored T-Post. The Armored T-Post is built for a lifetime of use. Gone are the days of replacing tons of T-Posts. If you are a professional range or a larger private range, we recommend the AR500 Armored T-Posts over ANY store bought options.
3.) Do I need to use the included Clevis Pin and Clip?
Answer: No, you do not need to. However, it’s a good idea. It’s added security to help the impact energy dissipation. It’s another layer of defense when running larger bore calibers. So you don’t need to, but we recommend you do. Remember, though, you cannot use the clevis pin if you are running standard 1.25 lb/ft T-Posts.
4.) Are the Sides of the Brackets Armored?
Answer: No, the sides are not armored. This means if you shoot at a harsh angle and impact the bracket, there will be damage. We cannot make the sides out of AR500 or AR550 as that would make it unfeasible to tap the holes. The tapped holes are a critical component of the system. Always engage the systems “head on” to avoid stray impacts of brackets and posts.
5.) Does this bracket make the targets lean forward?
Answer: Yes, this bracket is designed in such a way to force the target plate to have a forward lean. Additionally, the target moves when struck, resulting in safe fragmentation dissipation and also less wear and tear on the plates.
6.) What is the safe shooting distance of this mount?
Answer: That will vary based upon the caliber you are using. Please read our Genesis User Manual for more information.
7.) Is this bracket armored?
Answer: Partially, yes. The top plates are made from a premium 1/4″ Swedish AR500 steel. This material will resist wear and tear from fragmentation and glancing blows. The sides that lock onto the T-Post are NOT armored. Impacts to the sides can cause damage, so be sure you are always squared off (perpendicular) to your target while shooting. Building the bracket this way does slightly increase the cost to produce, but it guarantees a longer lifespan and less maintenance for you.
8.) Does This Product Fall Under Prop. 65 Warnings?
Answer: Maybe. Just in case, be sure not to eat the paint or lick the target before or after you’ve shot it. If you are just curious, led tastes horrible and will probably cause mental damage. If you have done it once you are likely to do it again. Handle at your own risk, if you choose, you may wear an industry grade hazmat suit and gas mask with a HEPA filter and good luck charm on your wrist.
