Features of the ARK Base:
This Steel Target Base is really just three parts that bolts in the middle. While the Genesis base does NOT ship with paper holders (unless ordered separately) It IS compatible with our Breakdown Base Paper holders AND our Extended Breakdown Base Paper Holders. Do you need the paper holders? If you train on USPSA targets, we recommend them. If you just simply want to shoot steel, you can save money by ordering without the paper holders. The standard paper holders are purpose built for USPSA targets and even work with our C Zone Cardboard Targets. If you want to run smaller paper targets, like ones you download and print on 8.5X11 paper, choose the Extended Paper Holders. When running the Extended Paper Holders with the Genesis base it REDUCES the width of your furring strips. This positions the wood posts perfectly for training on our smaller Paper Targets. You CAN run the extended paper holders with the C Zone Cardboard target, but the standard ones offer enough tolerance for C Zone sized paper as well.
Overall footprint of the ARK Base:
The ARK Base measures approximately 1′-10 1/2″ Long. The width measures in at approximately 19″. This creates a very stable footprint that will function well on all terrain types. Another feature you will come to enjoy are the extra holes for stakes. When you find yourself training in adverse terrain, use stakes for extra stability.
Excellent manufacturing and efficient material usage lead to low cost.
We designed the ARK Base for efficiency and ease of manufacturing. This provides you even more value and keeps the cost extremely low. The best part: This base is still manufactured right here in Southeastern PA. US Made products don’t have to cost you a fortune, and the ARK base certainly delivers value abundantly.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
1.) Which paper holders should I choose?
Answer: We have two current paper holder options for the Genesis Base: Our standard Breakdown Base Paper Holders and our Extended Paper Holders. For MOST of our bases, the Extended Paper holders allow users to run 24″ wide targets. The Genesis Base is Different. the Extended Paper Holders actually REDUCE the width, making this base PERFECT for smaller paper targets, like the ones you download and print on 8.5X11 paper. Printed 8.5X11 targets are a phenomenal training tool. So if you plan to print off your own targets on 8.5X11 paper, we recommend the Extended Paper Holders. If you plan to strictly train on USPSA sized targets or even our C Zone Cardboard Targets, the standard paper holders are a better option. You can, however, use the extended paper holders with our C Zone Cardboard Targets as well if you already own them.
2.) Which base is superior: The Breakdown Base or the Genesis Base?
Answer: Neither is necessarily better. The Genesis base is certainly less expensive and simpler than the Breakdown base. The Genesis base is a bit stiffer than the Breakdown base, but the Breakdown base has more material in contact with the ground. The Breakdown base shares a similar shape to our original round welded bases, but features replaceable components. Likewise, the Genesis base is FULLY serviceable. It really comes down to your budget and needs. The Breakdown Base Paper Holders work with the Genesis base as well as the Breakdown Base.
3.) System Compatibility:
Answer: The Genesis base was specifically designed for our Genesis Line of steel targets and USPSA targets. Using an A-DAP plate and bracket will make this base front heavy. The Genesis Plates have a different mount dimension and thus the center of gravity is slightly different. We recommend using this base for the Genesis line of target plates OR run paper holders and USPSA targets. However, this target stand does work with the A-DAP Systems.
4.) Is The Genesis Base Made From Armor?
Answer: No. The Genesis base is certainly NOT a target. To repeat, t is NOT designed to be shot. It will resist wear and tear from fragmentation, but direct impacts will cause damage. Moreover, this has always been the case with our bases. All in all, the major difference is you can now fix your base if need be.
5.) What Size Wood Boards Do I Need For The 2X4 Tube And Paper Holder Tubes?
Answer: A standard 2X4 works fine for the 2X4 tube. It will fit “looser” than previous bases. We oversized this tube slightly to assist in removal of boards in damp environments. As far as paper holders are concerned, either use 1X2 furring strips OR the BEST option is to use our custom paper holder sticks. You can find them HERE.
6.) Where Are These Products Produced?
Answer: We produce everything in beautiful Pennsylvania. We are also sticklers for quality and consistency. Therefore, we needed to keep our manufacturing under our wing. We make each product with love and care for serious use right here. Support US small business making products HERE!
7.) Does This Product Fall Under Prop. 65 Warnings?
Answer:Maybe. Just in case, be sure not to eat the paint or lick the target before or after you’ve shot it. If you are just curious, led tastes horrible and will probably cause mental damage. If you have done it once you are likely to do it again. Handle at your own risk, if you choose, you may wear an industry grade hazmat suit and gas mask with a HEPA filter and good luck charm on your wrist. 8.) Does The Base Come With Any Targets Or Other Brackets?
Answer: No. This is JUST the base assembly. This base does NOT include any method to mount steel target plates unless you order it separately. If you purchase a complete Genesis target system, it will come with everything you need.
